Apple Festival
HIGH ROLLS APPLE FESTIVAL When:
20th (Saturday 9am-5pm) and 21st (Sunday
9am-5pm) of October What: -Local and other apples Other: -Please, no dogs Attendance at the 2007 Apple Festival is estimated to be 8,000. (We charge no admission so we have no means to provide an accurate attendance number.) Proceeds from the festivals are used to further the High Rolls-Mountain Park Lion�s Club philanthropic activities. The club uses the money for the support of the High Rolls � Mountain Park Community Center. The Center is a no-cost location for senior citizens to have lunch, a place for community gatherings, and a lending library. Planning is underway for a new facility with expanded grounds and new capabilities. The club actively supports Lion�s International programs including Leader Dog, Children�s eye examination, education, community members with vision problems, diabetes programs. The club also provides the annual E. Ross Shain Scholarship for a community member who is enrolled in an accredited college or trade school.
